I have a “Rag Doll/ Detachable hair. U.S. Patent #3,889,414 from DeVerl, Inc. Box 3416, Fremont, Calif 94538″ All of that info was on the tag on the dolls back side. Any value?

I saw the comment from Kim about the Charlie and Annie Ragg dolls with Esther Rolles picture. How special. I knew Esther and used to write children’s stories that she would tell when she appeared to present and sell the dolls to different groups. I had a Charlie and an Annie but gave Annie to a little girl years ago.

Esther was a wonderful woman. She partnered with another person to create the dolls. She believed in allowing African American children to see themselves culturally represented in a soft doll… at an early age.

She found children from many cultures loved the dolls. Do you have any others available?
