Should You Save that "Obama Wins" Newspaper?

Friday November 7, 2008
If you're wondering whether you should save one of the myriad "Obama Wins!" newspaper headlines that flooded the world yesterday, the answer is yes and no. If you're an Obama supporter and it means something to you, save it. If you're counting on an appreciation in value any time soon, don't bother. If you do decide to keep one of these newspapers, be sure to read Saving and Preserving Newspapers to find out how to store and preserve your little piece of history.

(1) Franny Syufy says:

My mother had a newspaper proclaiming “Lincoln Shot,” which was handed down several generations. That one disappeared after her death, along with several others published during the civil war featuring letters written home from an ancestor in a notorious prisoner of war camp in the south. By then though, I’d already copied the practice. I have the (John)Kennedy assassination newspaper, the 2001 World Trade Center paper, the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, and others, in my collection. I’m not sure if I’ll keep the “Obama Elected” paper or not. It’s unlikely when I pass on that any of my heirs will be interested in my collection.

why save a paper with Obama spread over it. I give mine to a fisherman he uses them to wrap his fish scales in. I saw OBAMA so many times over the last 2 years I have gotten sick from looking at him and to think he will be on my T.V. for 4 years to come. Have mercy.
