Great article! As an auctioneer I feel so bad for some folks when they call me to their house to buy certain mass market “collectibles” that are virtually worthless. Unfortunately some people are duped by deceptive advertising and guarantees of increased value.
I once heard a quote from an oldtimer who said, “if it’s made specifically to be a collectible, it probably won’t be “.
While no rule of thumb is always correct, this one often applies.
