P is for Provenance

Sunday July 5, 2009
Appraisers tend to throw the word provenance around pretty freely, and rightfully so. Pamela, I hope you don’t have any Scottish readers… they’d be likely to hunt you down and subject you to death by bagpipes. Rabbie Burns English?!

Reminds me of when I recently mailed a present to my cousin in Scotland and the man at the PO said: Scotland? That’s in the UK, isn’t it? I replied: NOT BY CHOICE!!

The thought of death by bagpipes is more than I can bear. Not a fan of the instrument. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Not sure where I got the English reference, unless it was with the photo description. Antiques I know, poets, not so much! I’ll change the references straight away.
