The Artistry of Majolica

Tuesday July 14, 2009
With fantastic colors and magnificent motifs, majolica wares are nothing short of extraordinary. There was a time when my knowledge of majolica was fairly limited, but a few years ago I had the opportunity to go on a quest to learn more about it. I found out how and where pieces widely collected today were made, and by which companies. I also got to research the pattern and value of the piece shown here. If you're interested in learning more about these amazing earthenwares too, read The Artistry of Majolica.

Some people love majolica, others think it's ugly. Where do you stand on the beauty of majolica?
