A Collector's "Holy Grail"
The owner of the beer sign like the one I remembered from my mother's antique shop needs our help in finding another piece for his collection. Patrick Blazek says, "There was another sign that I have yet to find, or even find someone who can confirm what brand the beer was that was being advertised. It was of a deep sea diver in a sign similar to the Jax [example]. The diver was recovering a treasure chest filled with bottles of beer. If I remember correctly, it had a bubble tube and the diver traveled up and down as the lid of the chest moved. I would be willing to part with my second Jax sign for this other "Holy Grail" of beer signs from my childhood." Take a look at his sketch here, and drop me a note at antiques.guide@about.com, if you can help Patrick out!
