Plantation House Auction Tops Out Near $2 Million in Sales

If you've ever visited a Southern plantation in all its glory, you know how romantic the setting can be. And when it's filled will gorgeous antiques, all the better. A recent auction at Houmas House Plantation in Burnside, La. saw several furniture items selling in the mid-to-high five figures including a fabulous American Classical mahogany four-post tester bed from the early 19th century. I can just imagine the excitement of the 400-500 people who actually attended the on-site event and were able to bid on these fabulous treasures! This is one auction definitely worth reading about. The popular yellow vases made by McCoy and Shawnee Pottery companies fill a rustic blue-green shelf for a really charming, summery look. After you check out the cover, don't forget to follow up with: Celebrate the Season with Shawnee Pottery to learn more about the company's wares.
