1. Arrive early to hold a chair in a location where you'll be able to see, hear and feel comforatable.
2. Carefully inpsect the items you're interested in purchasing for any type of damage.
3. Take notes on condition and lot number (if used) of items to reference once the auction begins.
4. Review any reference guides you brought along to determine the maximum you're willing to pay for each lot on your list and record it in your notes.
5. Register for a bidder's number before the auction begins to avoid missing any of the action.
6. Follow the action and bid on the things you like, but take careful notice of the maximum price you set for yourself on each lot.
7. Only bid over your maximum price if you know you'll kick yourself for leaving the piece behind.
8. Don't look back if you lose a bid, just congratulate yourself for keeping your impulse spending in check and move on to the next item.

Tips:

1. Take your time inspecting items, since most auction items are sold "as is" meaning there are no returns.
