Definition: a simple, basic furniture foot style with a square or cube-like shape; although in existence from roughly 1600 to 1800, it was especially popular in mid-18th century English and American furniture; often featured in later Chippendale furniture styles

Also Known As: Marlborough foot, since it often appears at the end of the straight Marlborough leg

Examples:

The antique chair's simple block feet indicated that it belonged to Chippendale's late, Neoclassical-influenced period of furniture.
