As the name implies, tobacciana refers to collectibles or antiques related to all types of tobacco products including both cigars and cigarettes.

Cigar Collectibles

During the cigar revival of the late 1980s and early 1990s, the popularity of cigar collectibles increased dramatically. While the demand for this type of tobacciana is still high, only the rarest and most unusual items sell for the best prices these days. For instance, a rare coin-operated country store cigar vending machine sold on eBay.com for $8,900 in February, 2012. Salesman sample books filled with cigar bands and labels can also be worth several thousand apiece.

Other types of cigar-related collectibles include:

Cigar signs
Cigar ribbon textiles and quilts
Cigar boxes
Humidors
Cigar cases
Cigar cutters

Cigarette Collectibles

While not generally as romanticized as cigars with their artsy labels and bands, cigarette collectibles do have their place in the world of antiques. In fact, some early cigarette advertising actually touts them as healthful. These types of ads are very popular with collectors of tobacciana although they are not expensive. On the other hand, cigarette cases made of precious metals adorned with gemstones can sell for several thousand dollars each.

Other types of cigarette-related collectibles include:

Cigarette silks
Cigarette cases
Ashtrays
Cigarette trading cards
Cigarette holders
Items related to cigarette manufacturers
