When is a Childhood Plaything Worth a Million?

Wednesday May 28, 2008
I recently read an online news article about a childhood "toy" that turned out to be a solid gold Persian antiquity with an estimated worth of close to $1 million. A gift from his grandfather in the 1940s, the owner had stowed it away in a shoebox under his bed for decades. I wish we could all be so lucky rediscovering and selling our childhood playthings! If you thirst for tales of fantastic treasures like I do, read about a few more in Fabulous Finds Still Thrill Collectors.
