Fashion in 1904
Here's a sampling of the vintage fashions featured in the June 1904 edition of Ladies Home Journal : This ad makes you hurt just looking at it. Certainly a far cry from the undergarments of today. This fashion spread features cotton and silk muslin dresses for summer wear. The ruffled frock in the center is a "dainty afternoon dress." This lovely lady sports "made to your order" clothing from the National Cloak and Suit Co. A suit could be purchased for $7.50 by mail order with shipping included. No wonder they needed steamer trunks for traveling. This vacation dress spread features several "afternoon" frocks with the centerpiece being an tailored linen shirtwaist suit.
