haunted antiques
- My family comes from generations of psychics. I know some people do not believe in that kind of stuff but if you ever experience it, then you will be a believer. As much as I love antiques, I cannot go into antique stores because of the overwhelming feelings that surround me when I enter the stores. There is one particular store close to my home that is two stories and filled with thousands of items. The first time I entered that store my husband was outside on the phone, and in less than three minutes I came out of the store crying hysterically. I could not explain to him and it is hard to explain to others the vast amount of emotions that overcame me when I started to walk through the store. I had to leave.

Beth
- Hi I was in an Antique and Consignment store a couple of months ago in a town in Virginia called Clifton. On Main Street is this big red building that the store is located in. It was a slow day at the shop. I was the only one in there along with the shop owner. I picked up a doll I liked. I asked the owner the history of it. She told me that the owner of the doll was put in a nursing home and had passed away. She told me I could have the doll. The strange thing was while I was there every time the owner of the store walked by the lights in the store they would flicker. She was showing me some lamps too. I thanked her for the doll and took it home. I put it in the backseat of my car. On the way home I thought I heard something growl. I didn't have on the radio at all. When I got the doll home I placed her on my table by a window. When I wake up she is on my bed. I sometimes wake up hearing a low growl. I haven't any pets. Please tell me what to do with this doll.

Broken Mirrors
- I use mirrors to place items on in all rooms to brighten things up. The first time I woke up and noticed that one of my favorite mirrors (it had gold etched flowers around the edges) that was round had cracked all the away around in a circle about 1" from the edge. Then later it cracked about 2" from the edge. Later I noticed that a shield-shaped mirror with the same decoration had cracked in two and about 2 weeks later an oval mirror (again with golden flowers around the edge) cracked in two. I keep an inventory on my items with the price I pay for them and where I got them so that if I resell them I can get an idea of what they should go for. When I went back to my records on the round mirror I noticed that I had purchased this mirror at a friend's shop that had not been open for a while. My friend's daughter was running it explained that my friend had been murdered in Los Angeles at her antiques shop. No more gold flowers. Is it over? It's been months.

Haunted Antiques
- I bought two cabinets within days of each other. Since then strange things are happening such as a house slipper thrown at my dog. My mom who lives with me is a nonbeliever but now for the first time in her life won't sleep without a light on. She saw the dog and slipper thing happen. She thought it was my teen son, but he was not home at the time. My son also heard banging noises and rushed down stairs to find us sound asleep.

I am lucky that i do NOT have.....
- Any haunted collectables because I always ask the person selling the item how it feels when they touch it or have they noticed any strange happenings while it has been in thier home! Or i use my sixth sense when looking at the pic! I'm sure some on ebay think i am a loon! But thanks to this article I feel better about it!! Now I did buy a plastic blinking nosed snowman a few years ago that when you touch him you get that he belonged to an elderly man lonley in a cluttered apt but that is just residual energy. I make sure the snowman is happy at Christmas time.

vintage chic
- I paint antique furniture distressed, shabby chic, cottage style www.vintagechicfurniture.com. I purchased a dresser on e bay for $50 from Sleepy Hollow, NY. I drove over an hour from Long Island to pick it up. I painted it and put it in a store on consignment. It didn't sell for a very long time, which was odd. I had it for around a year and a half. I started working with a woman that opened a small shop in Sleepy Hollow. One day she called me up to say she sold the dresser. I was to deliver it to her shop. I didn't think much of it until i got to her store. I delivered it to the exact address i bought it from. Wow, the dresser went home. Very interesting. I think the odds of that are 1 in 1 billion.

Beautiful dreamer
- I have an 1860 iron bed that several times while sleeping on it I would feel it shake and when I turned over to look no one was there! It felt as if my husband was lying down but it wasn't him. Kind of creepy but must be harmless after owning it for 30 years!

Haunted Wrenches
- I returned home from an auction with treasures and the $100 bank which I take to the antique shop every day. I left the van loaded except for the bank envelope. I wanted to carry something in so I laid the envelope on the flat of wrenches and went inside As soon as I closed the door, my wife called me to dinner. I set the flat with the wrenches and the envelope down next to the TV. After dinner I got ready for bed and forgot about the envelope and flat. Later that evening my wife asked me where the bank was and I turned and pointed to the table next to the TV. It wasn't there! She said "you must have left it in the van". No I countered I set it right there. I did look in the van just to satisfy her. The next morning I went to my real job and got a call from my wife. She said she found the flat of wrenches with the bank envelope in the basement on top of the work bench. This is only one of a dozen of our spook stories. Let me know if you want me to bore you some more.

Queen Mary Trinket
- Sometime ago I bought what looks like a shooter glass with Queen Mary Long Beach California on it. Every once in awhile my spouse and I hear the sound of a bell ringing from where the trinket sits in the kitchen. Definitely unnerving.

The Haunted Wheelchair
- My sister owns a vintage wooden wheelchair, from The Dr's Hospital here in Fort Worth. She has it displayed in her house in the living area with plants sitting in it. Some days I can walk in and think nothing of it. Other times without even thinking about it I will go around another way to avoid it. Some days it takes my breath away and the hairs on my head will stand up. I feel that there is an elderly man attached to it and some days he is sitting in it. She will usually move it to another room now when she knows I'm coming over so that I don't have to deal with it. I feel that if I had to sit in that chair I would faint dead away.

Haunted Wedding Ring
- After my maiden great aunt died I was given some of her jewelry. Among the pieces was a ring. Every time I touched it I was overcome by a sense of extreme sadness. Several others that held the ring also felt this. I eventually decided that the ring had been purchased for her wedding. Her finance died during the Spanish flu epidemic of 1915, days before her wedding. She never married. I eventually sold it as scrap gold with the hope that it would be melted down and and end the haunting.

Old Army hat
- I once had a garage sale with an elderly neighbor of mine. After the sale, I was putting things away and picked up an old army hat that my neighbor said once belonged to her husband and she just wanted to get rid of it. As I held that hat, suddenly, someone whispered, "hey!" in my ear. I felt the warm breath and heard the sound so clearly. I was the only one in the area at the time. My hair stood up, I'm sure, and I pitched the old hat back on the table and ran to my house for cover!

Great Grandfather's Tall Case Clock
- There was a tall case clock at my great grandfather's house for years. The story is a number of years back he was annoyed by the chiming and purposely stopped the clock. The time he stopped it at was 9:15. He passed away in 1993 at the age of 99. About an hour before he died my father was sitting in the living room looking at the clock and thought to himself wouldn't it bizarre if Grandfather passed at 9:15. He left to go home and told my great grandfather's long time housekeeper to call him later with any updates. She called a little while later with the news that Grandfather had passed, and the time he died was the exact time he had stopped the clock, 9:15! Coincidence? Maybe. Makes a good story anyway! Unfortunately the clock was given to a cousin so I no longer have it in my possession.
